The GV-3KW uses a coreless disc axial flux PMG — no iron core means no cogging torque, no magnetic drag, and a start torque below 1 N·m. The turbine begins generating at wind speeds where iron-core generators are still stationary. Vibration is eliminated at the source, cutting noise and mechanical stress simultaneously. Service life is rated at 8× longer than conventional motor-type alternators, and the generator can be rebuilt rather than replaced at end of primary life.
Solar generates between roughly 9am and 4pm, and nothing at night. The GV-3KW is designed to generate exactly when your solar system cannot — overnight, on overcast days, and during the early morning and evening hours when commercial loads are often at their highest.
The GV-3KW connects to your existing battery bank via an MPPT wind charge controller — the same concept as your solar charge controller, but for wind. Your batteries now receive charge from two independent sources. When solar generation is zero, wind generation continues. The result is a more consistently charged battery bank and fewer hours running on generator.
If your existing solar system is grid-tied, the GV-3KW connects through an on-grid wind controller and grid-tie inverter, feeding generated units directly into your facility consumption at the same time as your solar system. Both sources offset grid import simultaneously. There is no conflict between the two — each operates on its own control path to the same inverter bus.
The most complete integration: solar panels and the GV-3KW both feed into a hybrid inverter alongside a BESS. The system charges batteries from whichever source is available and dispatches to load on priority. Wind at night charges the BESS for morning peak load. Solar during the day covers generation and tops up storage. The two sources are complementary by nature.
Connecting the GV-3KW to an existing solar system requires a wind charge controller or on-grid wind controller matched to the turbine output voltage, and in a hybrid setup, a hybrid inverter with a dedicated wind input or DC coupling. Charania Renewables scopes the full integration — controller selection, battery sizing, inverter compatibility and wiring design — as part of our standard assessment.
IP54 rated for permanent outdoor installation. 3kW output at rated wind speed with cut-in at 2.8 m/s — generating in conditions where horizontal-axis turbines are stationary. Pairs with rooftop solar to produce after sunset.
8m tower supplied as standard. Civil scope — foundation type and depth — specified to your site conditions. Open exposure and consistent prevailing wind give the GV-3KW its best output profile.
The GV-3KW is sized as the wind generation layer in a hybrid architecture alongside solar PV and battery storage. Start torque below 1 N·m means it begins contributing from first available wind — including overnight and overcast periods.
